AZELDERM contains azelaic acid 15-20%, a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid with antibacterial, keratolytic, and anti-inflammatory properties for treating acne and hyperpigmentation.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Azelaic acid 15-20%. Azelaic acid normalizes keratinization, reduces propionibacterium acnes colonization, and inhibits tyrosinase to reduce melanin production. It has anti-inflammatory effects by scavenging free radicals and reducing inflammatory cytokines.

How to Use

Wash and dry affected area thoroughly. Apply a thin layer twice daily (morning and evening) to clean, dry skin. Gently massage until fully absorbed. Wash hands after application. Use consistently for 12+ weeks for optimal results. Can be used long-term for maintenance.

Indications

Acne vulgaris treatment, rosacea (papulopustular type), melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, lentigo. Effective for sensitive skin types and safe for long-term use. Can be used in combination with other acne treatments.

Cautions

May cause mild tingling, burning, or itching initially (usually subsides after 2-4 weeks). Rare allergic reactions possible. Generally safe during pregnancy (Category B) but consult physician. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If severe irritation develops, reduce application frequency or discontinue use.
